Don't call a doctor, I'm gonna get better...

A few years after they broke America with their hit ‘Woke Up This Morning’ – the Sopranos title soundtrack, and many long tours later, Alabama 3 were in need of some visual refreshment. Over a 5 year period I acted as their visual creative director, re-shaping the basics and evolving the visual identity over 2 studio albums and 3 tours.

The brief set by this anarchic band, was to create a look and feel that covered all areas of marketing communications, digital activation, and merchandise. But this had to appeal to both them(!) and their cult fan base, as they have a dedicated international underground following. The subversive themes which dominate their oeuvre were played upon by employing visual references to counter-culture, country music, acid house genres, and general malaise.

A great experience, and fun most of the time – the photoshoots were hilarious. So many stories to be told here, some that shouldn’t, and some that will never be remembered…
